ARTV-1345 | 3-D Modeling and Rendering I
Course Description: Techniques of three-dimensional (3-D) modeling utilizing appropriate software. Includes the creation and modification of 3-D geometric shapes, use of a variety of rendering techniques, camera light sources, texture, and surface mapping.

Instructor Driven Focus:
In this class, students explore 3D modeling in 3ds Max while becoming familiar with polygonal modeling techniques and the use of subdivision surfaces. Emphasis is placed on developing clean topology and strong foundational modeling practices. Students also explore natural, physically based lighting, scene staging, and high quality rendering. In addition, they are introduced to low poly and high poly workflows, including the process of baking normal maps to support interactive modeling principles.
