Coffee Table Art Book | Ken Taylor

ARTC-1359 | Visual Design for New Media
Course Description: Visual design elements as they relate to new media. Emphasizes aesthetics and visual problem solving such as typographic issues, color management, hierarchy of information, image optimization, and effective layout.

Instructor Driven Focus: This class is structured like an internship. Students are positioned as designers working in an in house design studio for a book publishing company that specializes in creating coffee table art books. Each student is assigned a contemporary artist and uses Adobe Firefly to explore AI generative artwork, developing color comps that guide the illustrator in producing final artwork. Students then design a print ready art book in Adobe InDesign and create company branding in Adobe Illustrator. The final product is delivered as an HTML5 online flipbook. ALL ILLUSTRATIONS CREATED BY THE STUDENT UTILIZING ADOBE FIREFLY
